This is my first review here, so go easy on me. I’ve decided to start with horror movies, and what better way to begin than with Together.
Released in July, Together received positive reviews from critics and has already grossed $32 million worldwide. It’s a supernatural body-horror film directed by Michael Shanks.
The film Together tells the story of Millie Wilson and her boyfriend Tim Brassington. Millie gets a job teaching elementary school English in elementary school and they move to countryside.Their bond is unraveling, with both convinced this is the final chance to hold it together. As you can imagine everything went wrong
I rate this movie 4/10. Personally I didn’t like this film at all. Almost all the actions of the heroes reckless and stupid. In real life no one would behave like that. All the dialogues sounds unnatural and this is very embarrassing. Also I notice several plot holes. For example, the opening scene makes little sense – it feels like it was created solely to scare the audience. The film relies heavily on screamers, which I find to be one of the least interesting and laziest ways to frighten an audience, but to be honest they are pretty good. In one scene main heroes act as if they are possessed by devil, and this is completely out of line with the plot.
However Together has its perk – elements of body-horror are stunning. They cause feelings of disgust, abomination and at the same time admiration.
In the end, I think that Together is weak film, but it has few really good moments . I believe, some viewers might enjoy it.
